Judged!
I went out for a break. I walk out the building hoping to get a fresh air but fate have a way of mocking people at times. As I step outside the building door, a heavy air greeted me, much heavier then the corporate air that pervades the rooms inside the building. Smokes coming from lighted cigarette stick and smokers alike hang in the air like fog on December morning. only this one lacks the cold breeze and has a smell that I really hate.
I continue walking, crossing the streets to a concrete bench near a condominium’s garbage bin. I sat and began looking around when my nose began to notice something. The wall near the bin stank from the putrid smell of urine and probably some spit. The smoke of cigaretes is one thing, the smell of urine is another. I stood up and began putting some distance between me and the stinking wall. The condominium guard noticed me and maybe being familiar with the smell himself, took pity on me and offered me a wooden seat near his station.
I was beginning to relax when I heard a clanging coming from inside the bin. The guard went to check it, after a few seconds he emerged from the corner, manhandling a boy. His yellow shirt was well worn and dirty, his left hand holding an empty mineral water bottles, the other is holding something what looked like a damaged monobloc chair.
The guards face was all red in anger, he is shouting at the boy, his grip tightening on the boys elbow. The boy began to complain and thrash around. The guard pinned him on the floor and threatened to shoot him the next time he see him near the condominium again. The guard then allowed the boy to stand up and run off. Then he walk back to his station like nothing happened.
In gest I said “You shouldn’t have done that, You’ll never know, that boy might be the president of the Philippines someday”
He scoffed and said, “President? No way, that boy will die before he becomes 25 years old, or maybe a robber by the age of sixteen. Boys like that don’t have hopes”.
I stood up, my break time is almost done. I have to go back to my own life, back inside the corporate building where money and (sometimes) life is made. But I can’t stop thinking about the boy and the remarks of the guard. dead by the age of 25, or maybe rotting in prison? No hope? maybe the guard is right, With the kind of life and security that the street offers, the posibility is not farfetched.
The boy is maybe 10 years of age but the guard already know what life has in store for him. It may be true but it doesn’t make it right. The guard’s opinion is shared by the majority of us. I am also guilty of prejudging the destiny of this children before life would have an opportunity to open for them. we already expect them to die or go to prison before their life even begin. We have given up on them so easily.
Maybe if we acknowledge that its not too late for us (as a nation)to change, maybe its not too late for them to have a shot at life.
The Incredible Hulk!
Honestly, I was never a big Incredible Hulk movie fan but I grew up with the comics. The big mean green monster is one of my favorite, along with the superman comic series. When I saw Lou Ferrigno’s movie version of the hulk I cringe, that is not the hulk I was expecting, then I saw Eric Bana’s version. despite a decent CGI, Honestly, I was disappointed. I have been following the comic version of the hulk, and the more you read the comics the the more you see what the movie lacks.
I went to see the new Incredible hulk movie today. Starring Edward Norton, I was expecting another disappointment yet I have to see the movie. So as the movie began, I was a little apprehensive. I was hoping for a better plot this time but I am also careful not to hold my hopes high. As the plot unfolds, I began to relax, it’s as near to the story line as it could get.
Unlike the Eric Bana version, the new hulk movie did not put the fixated Gen. Thaddeus “thunderbolt” Ross in the center of the movie, Instead, they let the Hulk face a bigger villain in Emil Blonsky a.k.a abomination. It adds to the thrill of the movie, at least the hulk could play the part of an underdog and the writer did not rely on having the hulk smash as many tank as he could to sell the story .
It also answers one of the greatest mystery in the Incredible Hulk story. That is to understand why on earth does the pants stay where it should be when the rest of the hulks clothing is shredded into strips every time Bruce Banner turns into the Hulk. On the movie, Banner uses stretchable material twice his normal size for a pants just in case he turns to the green monster. 
Adding twist to the story is the cameo appearance of the Iron Man at the end of the movie. well maybe, not the Iron Man persona but Tony Starks. At the end of the movie, Starks approached Gen. Ross in a bar and said the they are putting together a team. What team?
If you have seen the Iron Man movie and was patient enough to wait in the theaters until the final credits have rolled, you will understand what I am saying. at the end of the credit roll, the movie shows Tony Stark going home only to fine someone waiting for him, this is how the final dialogue went.
Tony Stark: Jarvis.
Jarvis : [distorted] Welcome home, Sir
[Tony notices a figure by the window]
Nick Fury: “I am Iron Man…” Think you’re the only super hero in the world? Mr. Stark, you’ve become part of a bigger universe. You just don´t know it yet.
Tony Stark : Who the hell are you?
[The man walks into the light]
Nick Fury : Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Tony Stark: Uh-huh
Nick Fury : I’m here to talk to you about the Avenger Initiative.
The avenger initiative is refering to The Avengers, A team of superheroes much like the DC comic’s Justice league. The Avenger’s is the Marvel Comics version. The cameo appearance of stark in the Hulk movie is part of the effort to establish the so called Marvel Universe. Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk might just be the beginning of things to come.

Bilog ang mundo. Maghiwalay man tayo ng landas, magkikita pa rin tayo sa dulo. Kung napapansin mong binabagalan ko ang aking lakad. Ibig sabihin may tampo ako. Kaya plis lang amuin mo naman ako kahit minsan lang.

- Motel din kaso lang minsan magastos, kaya sa powerbooks na lang, kahit maghapon akong tumambay sa sofa nilang pahirapang makaupo. Okay lang. Libre namang magbasa. New Year’s Wish ko lang, sana bumait na yung isang gwardiyang mukhang tigre dun, sama ng tingin sa akin tuwing pumapasok ako. Alam sigurong makikibasa lang ako at hindi bibili.

- Honestly, I’m afraid to lose my inner child. I don’t want to mature in a way na maaring mawala yung magic na yun.

- Give it to charity all of it. tangena. plastic ang hinayupak. Ibibili ko ng libro lahat.

- Depende… likas talaga akong sinungaling eh , nyahahaha

I want to succeed sa work ko ngayon. Sana matapos ko din yung tangenang law school na yan.

- Hummm. Di ko lam eh. basta ang alam ko cummulative ang scoring system ko sa BAD na yan, halo-halong sama ng loob muna, tapos biglang sasabog na lang, sabay sigaw ng “You’re a very bad person! Magagalit sa’yo si God!”

- Despite ng pagiging barubal ko, sa loob madrama akong tao. uy pero di ako umiiyak pag nalalasing.

Today is my first month with wordpress. So allow me to give you my numbers, 34 Entries, 229 Comments, 1,934 Hits and a whole lotsafun. Not bad for the first month.
Honestly, madali akong magsawa, yung friendster account ko, close na yata, yung neopet kong si Azrium marahil ay patay na kasi hindi ko napapakain, yung Playstation sa bahay, malamang inaamag na sa gilid kasi ilang beses ko lang ginamit. Sa Blogging… Andito pa din ako. This must be love. nyahahaha.
I’m not new with writing. I’ve been writing since God knows when. But blogging is something on the personal side for me. No pressure, no editors to dictate what I needed to write, No deadlines at higit sa lahat… Pwedeng magmura. , ang sarap.
I use to have a blog when I am still using friendster. kaso lang it doesnt have the “It” kaya tinigilan ko, then a friend introduced me to wordpress and here I am, 31 days later, parang kinakamot pa rin ang talampakan. may kiliti pa.

Mood Swing
I don’t know. I just feel nostalgic during this time of the year. I love to listens to songs I usually listen to when I was a bit younger. That’s the reason for the song on the side bar. It may sound corny, but you’ll see some changes on the tone of this site this yule. (some lang. hehe)
